The latest release is 2.10.4. It is (or should be soon) in the JEdit plugin repository, so you can safely install from there.
The following applies to upgrading from versions before 2.10: - When upgrading to this new version, make sure that in Plugin Options>LilyPond>Commands the lilypond command is set to just "lilypond" and NOT the full path.
- The complex parser is quite stable now, so you should enable it in Plugin Options.
After installation look at here.
There are two ways of installing LilyPondTool. One is from jEdit's plugin repository (via jEdit's Plugin Manager), and one is manual installation. For the first installation you should always use jEdit's Plugin Manager. If you want to install a development version, or just upgrade before the plugin repository is updated, use the manual installation.
Manual installation downloads are always at sourceforge project page.
The requirements are the same for both of them.
To install LilyPondTool, you must have the following Optionally you need the following: - OpenOffice.org 2 dictonaries (for hyphenation) (
download)
Installing from plugin manager is the easiest way, but you will not always get the latest version. For advanced users I recommend installing the one available from the plugin manager, then upgrade with manual installation.
It is strongly recommended to download the sources of plugins as well. This way you can see easily see how LilyPondTool macros and templates are written.
Make sure you have the latest versions (install or update if necessary) of the following plugins via jEdit plugin manager: - Console
- ErrorList
- Jakarta Commons
- SideKick
- Templates
Download the latest binary from the sourceforge project page. It will be a zip file, named like lilypond-binary-2.10-01.zip. Download and unzip it into the jEdit program folder (e.g. c:\Program Files\jEdit 4.3pre6)
